What Sparked Your Interest in Dentistry?
Dr. Weber always liked the idea of having a career in the medical field, and his family dentist as well as others encouraged him to pursue dentistry. Toward the end of high school, he decided to take their advice, and he has now been a part of the dental world for over 45 years.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Born in Switzerland, Dr. Weber completed his initial education and earned his first dental degree at the University of Bern. He then went on to receive his specialty certificates in prosthodontics and periodontics there as well. After coming to the U.S. in 1987, he obtained his DMD from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Weber worked directly with Straumann (of Straumann Dental Implant Systems), contributed to ITI - International Team for Implantology and remains very involved with the organization, and is considered a true living legend in the world of dental implant dentistry — he helped develop the field alongside companies like Straumann!
Dr. Weber has contributed extensively to the scientific and clinical literature in the field of dental implant dentistry and is a regularly invited panelist at national and international meetings. He is an Associate Editor of Clinical Oral Implants Research and serves on the review boards of several other journals. An Honorary Member of the American College of Prosthodontists, he is the immediate past president of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics and a past president of the Academy of Prosthodontics. He is also the Director of Research and Clinical Development for ClearChoice Management Services, and in 2018, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in the International Team of Implantology (ITI).
Dr. Weber has previously served as a Professor and Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Science at Harvard. He is now a Professor Emeritus at Tufts. Since retiring from full-time academic dentistry, he has provided dental implant and prosthodontic care at Boston Prosthodontics Dental Group.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Weber has been married to Cheryl, a true Cape Codder and former dental hygienist, for over 35 years, and they have an adult daughter and son. Other than spending quality time with family, his hobbies include traveling, golf, downhill skiing, and gardening.
