Our team members at Boston Prosthodontics Dental Group are educators, leaders, and experts who answer questions regularly as they pertain to the field. Whether from peers or patients, they are staunch advocates for continued learning and want individuals to feel informed about their oral and overall health. As you will see below, we receive questions from those who entrust us because of our knowledge and expertise. Providing clear and honest answers, we encourage you to call us if you have further questions.
Will I have to wait weeks for an off-site lab to create my restoration?
No, at Boston Prosthodontics Dental Group, we are pleased to have an on-site laboratory and master ceramist who works alongside our team of doctors as well as our patients. Instead of sending digital images and three-dimensional models off to other laboratories, our ceramist will be part of the patient’s appointment, discussing and determining how best to craft the custom restoration so that the individual receives a high-quality product that looks beautiful and lasts for years or even decades.
Can I expect my cosmetic dentistry results to look natural?
Yes. Our team of skilled professionals is capable of generating transformational and elegant smiles with the help of veneers, metal-free dental restorations, teeth whitening, dental bonding, smile makeovers, Invisalign, and gum recontouring. With many of our doctors serving as part of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, we can ensure that each patient who receives cosmetic dental treatment walks away feeling better about their appearance.
Is it necessary to replace a missing tooth?
Yes, replacing a missing tooth is essential. Tooth loss is known to cause bone atrophy over time, leading to an increased risk of gum disease as well as facial sagging. Youthful appearances are less likely when there is nothing to stimulate the jawbone. However, we can use guided dental implant surgery and other innovative technologies to rebuild smiles so that teeth look and function like normal while also boosting facial appearance so that they feel more confident in their aesthetics.
If I have a damaged tooth, how can a prosthodontist repair it?
If a tooth is damaged, a prosthodontist can repair it using multiple treatment options. From a custom-made dental crown that is designed to fit over the visible portion of the tooth to dental veneers that can help to conceal stains, cracks, wear, and chips, the options make it easy for patients to envision a fully restored smile created by professionals who are experts in the field.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
Although we are out of network with dental insurance companies, we will be happy to file claims with a patient’s insurer so that they can take advantage of available benefits. We never want an individual to feel captive to their insurance company, which is why we build our treatment offerings and plans around the needs of a patient, not what their policy tells them they can do for a lower price. Instead, our team will go over financing options and our in-house dental savings program to help keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum.
