Get to Know Dr. Scott Lightfoot

Boston Massachusetts periodontist Doctor Scott Lightfoot

Raised in Ohio, Dr. Lightfoot attended The Ohio State University where he received his Post-Doctoral Degree in Periodontics, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition, a Master of Arts Degree in Exercise Physiology, and a Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology. He served as Chief Resident during his final year of his periodontal residency.

Dr. Lightfoot, a life-long learner and educator and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He also lectures nationally and locally on periodontal care, dental implants, disease and treatment. Dr. Lightfoot is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology and is licensed to provide LANAP.

Following his training, he practiced in Ohio before moving to the Boston area in 2005. Establishing offices in Hingham and Norwood after working for nine years as a periodontist on the South Shore, Dr. Lightfoot has extensive experience.

Interesting fact: The men in his family are all named William. His grandfather was William Jacob; his father (an orthodontist) is William John; he is William Scott. His wife’s father is William Joseph. His first-born son is William Jacob, and his second-born son is William Joseph.
